Dundee Hills, OregonOur Dundee Hills vineyard is located on Worden Hill Road, about two miles outside the City of Dundee.  Its neighbors include Dick Erath’s 35+ acre Prince Hill Vineyard, and the legendary Maresh “Red Hills” vineyard.

The vineyard is southwest facing which captures the hot summer afternoon sun, and at about 500 feet elevation.  Views are stunning, as the Willamette Valley stretches out seemingly forever.

The property had formerly been a decades old filbert (Hazelnut) orchard. The land was cleared and eight acres planted to Pinot Noir in 2000, with the first small crop harvested in 2003.

Sims Estate Vineyard Dundee HillsThe vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir clones PN2, PN4, 667, 777, and 115.  Rootstocks are 3309 and 101-14

The annual crop yield is targeted at about 2 tons/acre, which helps to fully ripen the grapes during the growing season thereby achieving more concentrated aromas and flavors in the wine
